Team Science Program: Florida Coastal Challenges

This program provides Team Science training and practical experience for faculty researchers in the state of Florida

Major societal challenges like sea level rise and coastal resilience require large, coordinated solutions that leverage interdisciplinary teams with collaborations from academia, government, industry, and others. However, we recognize that identifying collaborators and engaging diverse partners, especially those outside your institution, is difficult.

This program, facilitated by members of the Florida Research Development Alliance (FL-RDA), has the overarching goal to fill gaps in support, tools, and collaborative connections across the state of Florida. This is accomplished by assisting faculty researchers to create inter-institutional research teams, which are formed around important societal needs and informed by key community stakeholders.

This teaming initiative will be achieved through a two-stage professional development experience for faculty researchers from Florida higher education institutions. The program begins with an in-person, collaborative learning and ideation event (“Research Summit”) and continues with online, supported team and project development (“Idea Sprint”).
