On January 26, 2024, a cohort of faculty researchers from around Florida met virtually for a collaboration event. This event would help the cohort form into smaller teams and kick off a two-month brainstorming process to conceptualize research projects to address “Disaster Resilience” challenges across the state and further afield.
Nineteen faculty researchers from eight higher education institutions worked together to direct future collaboration opportunities considering resilience in the face of disaster.
Their disciplinary interests included engineering, economics, data sciences, anthropology, conflict resolution, decision sciences, gerontology, nursing, public health, social work, counseling, communication, operations management, and risk management.
